I typically don’t do many races, but I signed up for the Coastal Classic: my first race in a year. There were some things that worked well, and others that could have been improved. This isn’t meant to be a recount of the event, but instead notes for next time. It was a new course this year, so roughly the same distance, but more elevation: around 31km, with 1000m of elevation gain. I’ve done this route quite a few times, so I was pretty familiar with the entire course. Great atmosphere and a feeling of community.
