Taming the Jungle

Most weekends closely mimic each other: drinking a lot of wine, playing on the computers, eating lots of food. However, this past weekend was pleasantly eventful. On Saturday night, I met some friends in Windsor, a small suburb on the way to the Blue Mountains. After a stunning dinner of fish curry with numerous sides, I drove into Richmond to watch a local theatre guild’s production, A Dark Winter Night. Having been spoiled by theatre since childhood, I still enjoyed the performance. It was humble but entertaining. They even served free coffee and biscuits at intermission!

Into the New House

I had a mere 12 minutes until my laptop, running Ubuntu 7.10, finished upgrading to the newest release, so it seemed like the perfect time to share a few updates from my life. The last few weeks have been chaotic, to say the least. I found my own place at last! I am now in Pendle Hills. The commute to work isn’t much different, and taking the bus may even be a little faster. Living in a house again, rather than an apartment, is nice. I am quickly warming to the idea and generally enjoying the house.

They Got Me!

My night is winding down at 2:30 a.m., and sleep seems like a good idea. Looking at my arm, the relentless mosquitoes must have read yesterday’s post; they have practically drained the life from my left arm. What I really meant to say is that my time in this flat is finally nearing its end. Today I listed the networking equipment I used to work away from the office on Trade Me (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Computers/Networking-modems/ADSL-modems/auction-46922291.htm). Wish me luck!
