I live in Sydney, Australia, and work across software delivery, systems thinking, and technology-enabled operations.

My background spans project management, software delivery, systems engineering, and network engineering. Over the last two decades I have delivered work across transport, manufacturing, logistics, education, lending, government, and banking. I am especially interested in practical systems: the kind where people, data, infrastructure, process, and constraints all have to meet in the real world.

I studied Information Systems at Portland State University and completed a Master of Transport Management at the University of Sydney, where I received the Sir Hudson Fysh Award for academic merit.

This site is a long-running notebook for things I learn, build, test, and occasionally over-measure. I write about software, infrastructure, transport, mapping, health, longevity, travel, running, parenting, language learning, and the odd practical experiment that seemed worth documenting.

Outside work, I like being outdoors, travelling light, reading, programming, running, and finding ways to make data useful without making life smaller. I have lived in five countries, including Taiwan, France, New Zealand, Australia, and the United States.

People have sometimes described me as “unreasonably reasonable”, which I have decided to accept as a compliment. If you are in Sydney and want to catch up, there is a decent chance I will be game.
