Into the New House
I had a mere 12 minutes until my laptop, running Ubuntu 7.10, finished upgrading to the newest release, so it seemed like the perfect time to share a few updates from my life.
The last few weeks have been chaotic, to say the least. I found my own place at last! I am now in Pendle Hills. The commute to work isn’t much different, and taking the bus may even be a little faster. Living in a house again, rather than an apartment, is nice. I am quickly warming to the idea and generally enjoying the house.
I completed the move in one day, which, considering I don’t have that much stuff, isn’t anything to brag about. However, I also picked up a few couches from Bondi and did more shopping at Ikea that afternoon. Last weekend, I collected a fridge and washing machine. Both are in very good condition, and I acquired them at bargain prices.
Last Monday, two friends arrived from Taiwan, so I have been enjoying playing host. They have been excellent guests, and I am doing all I can to persuade them to move here. They seem to be warming to the idea.
So, in just a few paragraphs, that’s the latest update from the life of Kelvin. Work is tiring, as one would expect, but generally rewarding. I’m also working, as I often do, on a web app on the side. Even though I chip away at it only an hour at a time, I am making great progress. Django still rocks my world.
Off to bed I go.
