As I wait for my “grep -R tpe1 *” to finish, I’ll write a quick update.

School: I’m currently studying at the Chinese Culture University. Two weeks have passed, and I’m starting to feel more confident about living in Taipei. Today I went to a dance performance with a friend and 10 of her friends — I almost understood what they were saying. I could hear that they had or didn’t have something, along with “doesn’t matter, doesn’t matter” — but I didn’t know what they had or didn’t have. Exciting! I meet with Christian and Chino, from Germany and Japan, at 11:00 a.m. every day to practise for two hours. I then have class for two hours before wandering home. I’ll usually try to practise again before I fall asleep.

Work: I’ve been fortunate. As some of you know, I’ve worked at a company doing a range of IT work for quite a long time. I’ve had the privilege of working from New Zealand and now from Taiwan. I’ve had some of the coolest coworkers ever, along with more responsibility than I could have hoped for at this stage in my life. It is a great opportunity.

Life: Generally good. I’m online for much of the day across several messaging platforms, so it should not be difficult to find me.

That is the short update for now. I’m hosting my pictures through a place called Net Firms, the same company that hosts this site, using its photo gallery. Unfortunately, it keeps failing when I try to add new photos, so I may need to build a solution myself.

Alas, there is not enough time in the day.
