A Bussing Man

Published on March 29, 2007 in Taiwan

I'm a bussing man, I'll admit it. In middle school I had a great bike, could bike all over town. Then in high school I had a car, could drive all over town. Then I went to uni, lived in the middle of a big city, and didn't need a car. Sold. Since then, I've been riding buses everywhere. Cheap and good for the environment; I can't complain.

I saw the bus coming, it was of the crappy variant (and the kind that a) drives too fast b) always passes me).

With that said, sometimes I freaking hate riding the bus. Yesterday was one of those days. In the morning I ran to catch the bus, in fact, I ran in front of the bus crossing the street. I waved him down, but alas, he drove right by me -- he did make a little hand gesture to catch the next one, which was five minutes later. That night the traffic was once again busy and the bus couldn't get over. Passed again. The next bus was 10-15 minutes later, and I was late meeting YS.

Today I vowed not to let the bus pass me. I woke up, put on my bright yellow shirt, and waited by the stop. I saw the bus coming, it was of the crappy variant (and the kind that a) drives too fast b) always passes me). It started to come in the other lane and I knew it was gonna pass me. I jumped up and down, waving my hands wildly -- and it luckily stopped. Sort of at least, it didn't actually stop, I had to run and jump in the door as it was slowly driving down the road.

Regardless: Mission Accomplished.

@depping Tweeting while flying, that's almost ironic. (about 8 hours ago)
